About this game
FreeCell is the thinking player's solitaire. Unlike Klondike there is no face-down row and no deck to draw from: all fifty-two cards are visible from the moment you start, which means nothing is hidden, nothing is luck, and virtually every deal can be won by someone who plans well enough. What stands between you and the four foundations is space. Four free cells sit at the top left, each holding exactly one card, and they are the only place to park a card that is in the way. Build the foundations up by suit from Ace to King, stack the eight columns downward in alternating colours, and remember that an empty column is the most valuable thing on the table — worth more than a free cell, and far too easily wasted. Runs of cards move as a group when you have the room to shuffle them through the cells one at a time, so the number you can carry rises and falls with every move you make; the game works this out for you and tells you when a legal-looking move is one free cell short. Cards that can no longer be useful are sent home automatically, but only when it is genuinely safe to do so, never burying something you still needed. Unlimited undo means you can explore a line and walk it back, a timer and move counter track the run, and your fastest win is saved between visits. Drag with the mouse or a finger, or simply tap a card to send it somewhere sensible.
Controls
Drag a card or an ordered run with the mouse or your finger. Tap or double-click a card to send it to the best available spot. Keys: N new game, U undo.
How to play
Move all fifty-two cards to the four foundations, built up by suit from Ace to King. Columns stack downward in alternating colours, the four free cells hold one card each, and an empty column will take any card. You can only move one card at a time, so a run moves as a group only when you have enough free cells and empty columns to carry it.
