About this game

Letter Loop is the once-a-day letter chain puzzle. Twelve letters sit three to a side around a square, and you build words by hopping from letter to letter — with one rule that changes everything: two letters in a row can never come from the same side. Words must be at least three letters long, and every new word has to start with the last letter of the word before it, so the whole solve is a single unbroken chain. The goal is coverage, not word count: you win the moment all twelve letters have been used, and the target is to do it in five words or fewer. Go over and the puzzle still counts, it just tells you how many you needed. Every chosen letter draws a line across the square, so the shape of your thinking is right there on the board — long diagonals when a word is doing a lot of work, tight zig-zags when it isn't. There is one puzzle a day and it is the same square for everyone, drawn from four hundred layouts that were each machine-verified solvable inside the target before shipping. Tap the letters or type on a keyboard, restart as often as you like, build a streak on consecutive days, and share a spoiler-free result that gives nothing away.

Controls

Tap or click a letter to add it to the current word, or just type on a physical keyboard.

Keyboard

  • Enter submits the word, Backspace deletes the last letter, Escape clears back to the starting letter.
  • Every control is reachable by Tab with a visible focus ring.

Restart

  • Restart clears the whole puzzle.

How to play

Twelve letters are arranged three per side around a square. Build a word by moving from letter to letter, but never take two letters in a row from the same side — that is the rule the whole puzzle turns on.

Chaining words

  • Words must be three letters or longer, and each new word must begin with the last letter of the previous one, so your words chain together.
  • You are not trying to make the most words: you win when all twelve letters have been used at least once, and the target is five words or fewer.
  • Used letters are filled in and marked, so you can always see what is left.
  • Going over the target is allowed — the puzzle simply reports how many words it took.

The daily loop

  • One shared puzzle per day, a new one at midnight, and a streak for solving on consecutive days.
