Color Dash
Hop a ball up through spinning four-colour rings, passing only through the arc that matches the colour you are right now.
About this game
Color Dash is a one-tap climbing game with a single rule that turns out to be surprisingly demanding: you may only pass through the part of an obstacle that matches your own colour. Every ring above you is split into four spinning arcs, and only one of them will let you through. Tap to hop, watch the ring turn, and go when your colour comes round. The catch is that a ring is not one decision but two. You enter at the bottom of the circle and leave at the top, and it keeps turning while you are inside it — so a gap that was open when you committed can close before you are out. Timing the entry is the easy half; reading how far the ring will have rotated by the time you reach the other side is what separates a run of five from a run of fifty. Between the rings sit switch dots that repaint you a new colour, so you never get to settle into one answer. The climb never ends and it never repeats: rings are generated as you go, turning faster and drawing tighter the higher you get, and every one of them carries all four colours exactly once — so there is always precisely one way through, and a run that ends is a run you misread rather than one you were never given. Because colour is the whole mechanic, it is never the only signal: each colour also carries its own shape, marked on the arc and on the ball, so the game stays readable if you do not separate hues easily. One thumb, no download, and a best score that will annoy you for a while.
Controls
Tap, click, or press Space to hop upward. That is the only control — everything else is timing.
How to play
Your ball has a colour, and so does every arc of the rings above you. Tap to hop upward, and time it so that the arc passing in front of you matches your own colour — anything else ends the run.
- Each ring is two separate moments, because you enter at the bottom and leave at the top while it carries on spinning, so look at where the ring will be rather than where it is.
- The small four-colour dots between rings repaint you at random, so check what you have become before you commit to the next gap.
- Every ring you clear is a point, the rings spin faster and grow tighter as you climb, and falling off the bottom of the screen ends the run just as surely as the wrong colour does.
