About this game

Gem Match is the swap-and-match puzzle at its most satisfying: a full eight-by-eight board of glowing gems, and one simple move. Trade places between any two neighbouring gems to line up three or more of a kind and they burst; everything above tumbles down to fill the gap, and if the falling gems happen to line up again, the chain keeps going on its own. Those cascades are where the game opens up — a single well-placed swap can set off a run that multiplies your score several times over, so the board rewards looking two moves ahead rather than grabbing the first match you see. Every gem carries its own shape as well as its own colour, so the board stays readable whether you play by hue or by silhouette. When no move is left the board quietly reshuffles, so a game never dead-ends, and your best score is saved between visits. Tap a gem and its neighbour, or just swipe one into the other — it plays the same on a phone as it does on a desktop. Open it and start matching.

Controls

Tap a gem then tap a touching gem to swap them, or swipe one gem into its neighbour. A swap only sticks if it makes a line of three or more.

How to play

Swap two adjacent gems to form a horizontal or vertical line of three or more matching gems, and they clear from the board.

Gems above fall to fill the space and fresh ones drop in from the top, which can trigger new matches automatically — these chains multiply your score, so set them up when you can.
Longer lines of four or five are worth more than plain threes.
If the board runs out of legal moves it reshuffles itself, so play as long as you like and chase a new best score.
