About this game

2048 is the addictive sliding number puzzle that turns simple arithmetic into a compulsion. Swipe the whole board in any direction and every tile slides that way; when two tiles of the same number touch, they merge into their sum — two 2s become a 4, two 4s become an 8, and on up the chain. A new tile appears after every move, so the board keeps filling, and the challenge is to keep merging faster than it clogs. The goal is the 2048 tile, but the real game is what comes after: keep going and see how high you can push the score. The trick most people learn the hard way is to pick a corner and keep your biggest tile pinned there, feeding it row by row instead of scattering high tiles across the board. An undo button forgives the occasional slip, your best score is saved between visits, and the game only ends when the board is full with no merges left. Play with arrow keys or a swipe, on any screen, with nothing to install.

Controls

Swipe or use the Arrow keys (or WASD) to slide all tiles in that direction.

How to play

Every move slides all tiles as far as they can go in the chosen direction.

Merging

When two tiles showing the same number collide they merge into a single tile of double the value, adding that value to your score.
After each move a new 2 or 4 appears in an empty cell.
Keep your largest tile in one corner and build toward it.
