About this game
Connect Four is the drop-and-stack classic, played against a computer opponent that reads the board rather than moving at random. Take turns dropping discs into a seven-by-six grid; the first to line up four of their colour in a row — across, down, or on either diagonal — takes the game. It sounds simple, and the first minute is, but the board turns into a game of traps very quickly: leave two open ends on a row of three and the computer will punish it, so the real skill is setting up threats it cannot block while spotting the ones it is quietly building against you. The AI uses a look-ahead search with three settings — Easy reacts a move or two out, Medium plans several moves deep, and Hard searches far enough to make you earn every win. It always takes an immediate win or block, so cheap shots never work. First drop alternates each round to keep things fair, and it plays identically with a tap on a phone or a click on a desktop. No download, no sign-up — pick a column and go.
Controls
Tap or click a column to drop your disc into the lowest open slot. Use the Easy / Medium / Hard control to set how far ahead the computer thinks.
How to play
You play the red discs against the computer's yellow. On your turn, drop a disc into any column that has room; it falls to the lowest empty slot.
- Win by connecting four of your discs in an unbroken line horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
- Watch for the computer building its own line of three — an open three becomes four unless you block it — and try to create a double threat it cannot stop in a single move.
- If the board fills with no four in a row, the game is a draw.
